DANIMA 06

Last weekend I went to the Danima 06 conference at University of Copenhagen. I would like to thank Samuel Ben Israel for making this event come to life.

I lectured about how videogame animation aesthetics was different from other kinds of animation. I did that by showing music video presenting videogame animation. The point was that if one could recognise videogame aesthetics in a music video then there had to be something special about this kind of aesthetics.

I also got a chance to see interesting new animation movies from The National Film School of Denmark and met with Gunnar Wille and the famous Danish animation director Anders Morgenthaler. During the conference I got a chance to talk to Janeann Dill from Alabama. She told me how it was to be a faculty member in the States. I also got to talk to Hee Holmen from Aalborg University Esbjerg.

I was at DANIMA 06 as well (I was one of the students making sure there was enough coffee to go around), and I found the lectures very interesting - and it was great to meet all those inspiring people!

I was actually reminded of your lecture about videogame aesthetics the other day. I saw the new coca-cola commercial on tv, and that should, without a doubt, prove the points raised in your lecture.

Anyway – hopefully I will see you at DANIMA 07 (if such a thing will ever come about).
