Lately, I've been working on how to grasp the classic Dungeons & Dragons character classes through Jungian archetypes. It seems the four human character classes thief, fighter, magic-user (later known as wizard) and cleric may be put into aschematic structure showing how they are in fact doubble-archetype variants. The demi-humans dwarf, elf, halfling may be seen as the father, the mother and the child referring to the Freudian Oedipal conflict.
